11 am – 3:30 pm EST
Scheuer Auditorium & Exhibition Galleries

Celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah with art-making and an exploration of striking Hanukkah menorahs in the Jewish Museum’s galleries. Capture your discoveries through playful drawing activities, collaborate on an “illuminated city” installation with The Giant Room (a creative hub for children), participate in a projected light and shadow activity with Imagination Play Project, print unique Hanukkah cards, and re-mix everyday materials to design a holiday sculpture inspired by art on view in New York: 1962-1964.

The Giant Room will be leading their drop-in installation project from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm.
Linda White, play curator and founder of Imagination Play Project will be leading an interactive and open-ended play session from 11:30 am - 2 pm. Experiment with light and shadow using translucent materials and Hanukkah silhouettes, project your creations on a wall, and get inspired by the bold images of artists on view in New York: 1962-1964 using found objects and more.
All other activities are ongoing.

Free with Museum Admission; children 18 and under are free.

Reservations are recommended. Click here for admission tickets and select a timeslot on December 18 between 11 am and 3:15 pm.
