New York, NY, March 21, 2017 – The Jewish Museum will present Freedom Art Jam, a fun-filled family day for Passover, on Sunday, April 9 from 12 noon to 4pm. Special activities for the holiday include a dance party with Vered and The Babes, a drop-in art workshop, and gallery hunts.

This event is for children ages 3 and up, and is free with Museum admission.  Adults are asked to accompany their children. For further information regarding family programs at the Jewish Museum, the public may call 212.423.3337. Tickets can be purchased online at thejewishmuseum.org/families.


FREEDOM ART JAM EVENTS

TWO SHOWS!
PERFORMANCE BY VERED AND THE BABES
12:00- 12:30 pm and 1:15- 1:45 pm
Vered and the Babes’ mix of folksy pop rock will keep the whole family grooving in this Passover concert featuring a playful spin on Ma Nishtana (The Four Questions), songs about freedom, and the band’s award winning hits.

DROP-IN ART WORKSHOP
12 pm to 4 pm
Guests may participate in three activities:

Funky Instruments for Freedom
Create or invent one-of-a-kind musical instruments inspired by objects from the Jewish Museum’s collection and using bells, wire, ribbons, and found objects, and then perform together as a family.

Painted Passover Storybooks
Design colorful handmade books inspired by the paintings of Marc Chagall, using techniques that combine drawing and painting.

Giant Seder Plate Sculpture
Collaborate on a giant seder plate installation inspired by the work of artist Charlemagne Palestine.

SELF-GUIDED FAMILY EXHIBITION TOURS
All-day
Specialized printed family gallery hunts highlighting the exhibition The Arcades: Walter Benjamin and Contemporary Art will be available.
